Revenge

Revenge

Redeeming the mistake

There is a parable of Peter Dunov, called “Revenge” about a man, who married a young, beautiful and gentle woman.

And they moved on a distant place to live happily ever after. The happiness didn’t last long. It turned out that the young beautiful woman is an old, evil and ugly witch, but she was very powerful in magic, so she deluded everyone and she turned him into any animal she wanted to. She used to hit him and curse him in animal form. One day she turned him into a dog and wanted to beat him again, but the man somehow managed to escape.

The man went to the nearest human town and although he knew he is in a dog body now, he hoped to find food and care of a good human, and so, he started following humans. No one cared about him. One day he followed a woman. She was a witch too, but a good one. She saw, that she has been followed not by a dog, but by a human in dog’s body, so she took him home. She fed and cleaned him. She sprayed few drops of something purple over him and he turned back into a human. She gave him a beaker with strange orange color and told him that his wife is a very powerful dark witch. If he manages to spray her with few drops of the beaker, she would turn into a horse. After that he must decide what to do with her. He returned home and indeed managed to spray her with the strange orange drops. She turned into a black horse.

What would you do in his place?

This time I am about to tell you what Peter Dunov some time ago told he did:

He immediately took her in the stable and started to beat her. This is what he did every day as a revenge for all the wrong she did. One day he met his spiritual leader and told him the story of his life, after that he asked if he is doing the right thing with his black horse. The spiritual leader answered him:

“According to human laws you are doing the right thing - eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This is how you revenge to her. According to the divine law you are not doing the right thing. You have to show clemency: you will feed her good, pat her, give her some work, to start loving you in return. When she is loving you, she will redeem her mistake to you, and after a while she will turn back into a human. Go now and enforce the divine law. This is the only way to complete your task.”

The comment of Peter Dunov:

“How one should treat a human, who did a kind of a crime? One lives in the Christian Age and says, this criminal must be hanged. If one asked him, he would tell, that he did a crime, because towards him some time ago someone else did a crime. The thief would say, that he thieves, because he has been thieved by someone else. The liar would say, that he lies, because he has been lied by someone else. This is how one cannot solve the issues. The violence gives birth to violence. In order not to manifest anymore violence in one’s life, Christ says: “Do not revenge. Do not make place inside for anger.” One might say that by revenge one seeks for one’s right. Leave it to God, let him give the right to everyone.”
